When Jesus’ mother and cousins stood outside of the building where He taught, wishing to apprehend Him because they thought He was losing His mind; He would not go out to meet them then. But He answered that His true family were those who heard God’s Word and kept it.

And we pray:
Lord Jesus, we are all a part of the family of God who have heard The Word of God in the Gospel and believed it. We thank You for adopting us into Your family, unworthy though we were. We know that You will never oust anyone from Your family, even when we sin. But help us to walk in obedience to Your Word. Help us to “walk worthy” of the calling with which You have called us, Amen.
