More than once, Paul was persecuted because of his faith. (2 Cor. 11:23-27) One such incident occurred in Lystra. After healing a man who was lame from birth, Paul and his companion Barnabas were hailed as gods. The two had to beg the ecstatic crowd not to worship them! All too soon, however, Jewish opposers arrived, and they used slander to poison the minds of the people. Quickly the tide turned! The people now pelted Paul with stones and left him for dead. (Acts 14:8-19) After visiting Derbe, Paul and Barnabas “returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch. There they strengthened the disciples, encouraging them to remain in the faith and saying: ‘We must enter into the Kingdom of God through many tribulations.’”—Acts 14:21, 22.
So, just what are your tribulations today? Be Strong in The Lord and the Power of His Might. I will throw this out there as a test verse, if any of you know where the good book reads this…then Great! If not, is there something we should be doing (livingThe Wordin knowledge???)
Let me put it this way… We may have an ‘test’ coming up (hmmm! Funny enough, the test of your knowledge of The Word is already here!) So, back to my question; How do we prepare for said examination? In the past, we used to study (at least, I did) staying up all hours of the night if necessary.
I even recollect sticking my feet in a bucket of cold water, kolanut, coffee… all this, just to do well on a written exam? Even studying for the boards in Medical School, Residency as an Attending Physician…a lot of sleepless nights, study, review, memorization; side effects, mode of action blah blah blah.
But it was all for good. Now, just to take one teeny weeny step back. What have you done in your Christian walk today?
When was the last time you went out to spread the Word? To your family, friends… Do you do that even? What has happened to you that you can share?
Yes, yes, yes; I know…hard to do with The myriad of other responsibilities.
“This guy has it easy”, “that is so easy for him to say”, “just who/what does he think he is”, “all this preaching, and what does he have to show for it?” You aren’t wrong at all. I may perhaps have nothing here, but my treasure is where my heart is. Hallelujah!
Where there is no loss. What is There is There. Having learned our lessons, whatever they may be, we are in The Lords reign for eternity.
You know what? That starts even now. Just place your trust, your all into His Hands and watch it come to be, even now as it will and shall be for eternity. Hallelujah!
At this point, in your words give Him praise and release your all to Him.
