God does NOT CHANGE!

Beloved I pray with you, may God deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, may He redeem you out of the hand of the terrible in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Sometimes we wonder why God allows certain things to happen to us, especially Christians. We wonder why negative things happen to us and wonder if God is no longer the caring God He is known as or He has forgotten about us His children.

The truth is God sometimes allows these things to happen to us to bring glory to His name when He intervenes or to punish us for what we have done wrong against God.

About the story of Jonah, he was a minor prophet of God from the land of Gath- Hepher a border town in ancient Israel. The son of Amittai.

He was called by God to prophesy against the city of Nineveh, a major city in Assyria because of their wicked deeds. Instead of obeying God, he decided to run from God, and the instruction is given to him to a different city.

God decided to punish him by allowing him to be swallowed by a big fish. There so many reasons as to why God allowed the fish to swallow Jonah.

One of the reasons God allowed the fish to swallow Jonah was to bring glory to His name. God used that medium to glorify Himself, to show that He is God and He can bend or make any man obey his command. He also proved that he can deliver us from all situations. See the book of Jeremiah 15: 21 ” And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible. “

Another reason why God allowed the fish to swallow Jonah was to bring repentance to him. Jonah realized his wrong and pleaded for God’ s mercy when he was in the fish belly. That is why God is addressed as the all- knowing God. He knew Jonah will obey willingly unless he finds himself in an unpleasant state like the fish’ s belly.

Can this really have happened? Yes!

It is not a ‘story‘ told, but a factual testimony. Imagine being ‘told’ in a dream to do something after realizing that your dreams have meaning. For a majority of prophets/accounts in The Word humanly inexplicable; we read and or hear the accounts. More importantly…

We are working on The Word for our dsy. Your testimony will draw so many to Christ.
