The Psalms discuss the importance of loving the laws of God in several places. This Psalms is one of them as is Psalms 119:165: “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” If you follow and cherish God’s laws, you can live with no fear and with a great peace, because you are certain that you are doing nothing wrong in the sight of God. This should be all of our aims, but it is of course much easier said than done.
And we pray:
Holy Lord, makes of the laws that govern both Heaven and Earth, I am Your clay to mold however You see fit. I am also a fool, easily tempted by darkness, with an animal spirit that does not always like to be told what to do. I submit to You, O Lord, and ask that You tell me what to do. If You do this, I promise I shall follow Your commandments. In the name of Your holy laws, I pray, Amen.
