The Word!

This morning I thought of two amazing things. First, time as we know it is sendary to the Lord. AD and BC! Think of it! Life as we know it is based on Jesus! Time??? In relating what I have shared, yes! We assume and most of us believe that the world was created by God. But, time? As we know it is based on His Son??? We will study more on this later.

This morning, I read the story of Jesus being tested. He was brought a woman who commited adultery. A sin punishable by death. There are so many reasons that this is sin and/or the response of the ‘righteous’ (ahem!) was wrong. But Jesus though questioned actively stooped down to scribble in the dirt as opposed to directly answering their queries. But, He was pressed by the the then religious leaders. The effect was to Jesus could be caught ‘unaware’. Amazingly, everything was known (as in the case of Lazarus illness and passing) Jesus then stood and addressed them politely and said “he who is without sin, let him cast the first stone.” A most significant question, the elders (those in charge) left first, then all the rest of the ‘mob’ until only the accused woman remained. And Jesus simply said, “go and sin no more”.

I am incuding this for those without access to a bible:

“Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.
“Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”
They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.
When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”
“No, Lord,” she said.
And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.” John 8:1-11

Most pointedly, we have choices to make. First, we have to realize that no matter how ‘good’ we think we are, we have and do make mistakes. So in all fact, there is not one without their faults. We all have faults. So, before we stand in judgement of others, we need to look within and examine our hearts and selves.
Second, we must always lay everything before The Throne of God.

And we pray:

Lord, we come to You in submission. Realizing that today, there is none without sin. Try as we may, this life and time is a learning experience. Teach us to learn. To adhere to Your Word and will. Give us strength when we are weak. Forgive us when we stumble. Support us with your Love through thick and thin. We commit this day and the rest of our experiences into Your hands in Jesus’ name, Amen
