A summary; Elijah was in service of The LORD. Man did not like this. God communed with Elijah. ALL the false prophets committed to serving baal and false gods were asked to call on their god and ask that a sacrifice be consumed by who they served. The set out calling unto a force with no power. They began cutting themselves and limping around their altar with requests. NO ANSWER!
Elijah set up an alter with 12 stones and took the second choice sacrifice (the priests/prophets of baal had the first choice.) Elijah dug a pit around his sacrifice and had them pour water over the sacrifice to Yahweh; soaked was the wood, sacrifice and stones. EVERYTHING was consumed with fire from the ‘skies’ – the 12 stones too! The false prophets were doomed and paid for their falsehood with their lives.
Moreover, Elijah had prayed for a drought that affected Israel. He asked The Creator to cause rain to fall – but Elijah needed to pray and faithed his request to God; sending his assistant 7 times to see what he could see. Stay on your knees praying and faithing, Amen.
