Better to have little and be righteous than to be wicked and live in abundance. When we are fooled by material wealth, we may be tempted to envy wicked people who seem to “have it all.” But we are told that is not the way. Our “little” is much better because we are righteous. We are protected from having our “arms broken,” from being chastised by the Lord. When we are content with what we have, we don’t fall into the trap of wickedness.
And we pray:
Father, help me to be content with the little that I have. I choose not to envy the wicked people, even in their prosperity. I thank You for sustaining me and meeting all my needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Amen.
