And we step away from The Word to land firmly IN The Word…

Buffet’s advice on ‘life’… “The way to do it is to play out the game and do something you enjoy all your life,” he said. “Be associated with people you like. I only work with people I like. If I could make $100 million with a guy who causes my stomach to churn, I’d say “No!””

Buffett’s happiness lesson in four words

The biggest lesson on happiness from Buffett’s speech stands the test of time and is especially apropos in the age of quiet-quitting: “Do what you love.”

Lands us right smack in The Word! Definition of ‘love’ (not “L” but “l”):

Definition of Love (as stated in the Bible)

As a kwik aside; Paul was successful on/in his earlier mission starting off:

During the stoning of Stephen, according to the book of Acts, “the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul,” who later converted to Christianity and took the name Paul.

Acts 7:58-8:1a NRSV

Then they dragged him out of the city and began to stone him; and the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a young man named Saul. While they were stoning Stephen, he prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he knelt down and cried out in a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he died. And Saul approved of their killing him.

What is the significance of this? Was he their servant? Their supervisor? Is this Luke’s literary device to introduce someone who will become a major character? Or does the placing of the coats at Paul’s feet have some other meaning?

As Saul (later to be named Paul) neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from Heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, Whom you are persecuting,” The voice replied.

The rest of Paul’s days he exhibited a zeal and passion for God that is hardly matched to this day.

My question; what is your reason? Your season?

Right kwik, we pray:

Father, open my heart that I see Your awesomeness in my reason. Lord, in The name of Jesus this is my Season, Amen. Your will for me be done in my life I decree in The name of Jesus, Amen. Father, once You speak it is, Amen. Use me LORD, I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
