When we “lean” on our own understanding, we fall prey to the sin of arrogance. Humans tend to be “human” centered. We think we know best, in all things. Over and over again, we are exhorted in Scripture to “trust in God.” He is faithful to direct our path. Our best bet is to let God be the one to tell us what to do. Our own understanding just doesn’t cut it. We have to step out of our own way and let God do the leading. Anything else is foolish pride.
And we pray:
Father, help me to let You lead me. Help me to not depend on my own understanding but to acknowledge You in all my ways so that You can direct my path. Amen.
