It is not enough to merely be aware of the light of God’s truth. It is not sufficient to simply acknowledge it as light indeed. If we would hold sweet communion with our Heavenly Father, we must also walk in the light. His Word is the light that enlightens our path, that lamp to our feet (Psalm 119:105). When believers learn to walk in accordance with God’s Word, they have deeper fellowship with both God and one another. And the sin that could threaten to destroy that fellowship, if confessed (1 John 1:9), is covered in the blood and no longer a barrier between us and God.
And we pray:
Forgive us, Lord God, for any sins we have sinned this day or in days past. I desire to walk in accordance with the light You have shown to me from Your Word. I long for deeper fellowship with You and with my brothers and sisters in Christ as well. Help me to walk more consistently in the light and to not neglect long to confess and forsake any sins that hinder my fellowship with You. Amen.
