Did you know that you have the Power of an Endless Life

When you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and make the pledge to follow Him all the days of your life, you are born again, born of God. Royal One, you need to be able to conceive this in your mind and in your heart. You are born of God! Sons/daughters of God!

John 1:9-12 NKJV “That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Did you get that Royal One? Verse 13: “who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” You were born of God!

Hebrews 7:14-16 NKJV “For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood. 15 And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another priest 16 who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life.” (some translation use indestructible life)

Jesus has power because He came according to the power of an endless life. When we are born again, we then also have the power of an endless life. We step into eternity in Christ Jesus.

What does the word power mean in verse 16 Pastor Glenn?

Power: Greek word ‘Dunamis’ it means inherent power, ability and power to will, great ability, one who exercises dominion, inherent miracle working power of God, marvelous works, terrifying works. Our English word dynamite comes from this word.

Jesus walked in power. Why? He had the power of an endless life (or indestructible life). Jesus was the Word of God, the power of creation, in the flesh. He had no beginning and he has no end. He possess an endless life. Remember God created everything with His Words. Jesus is the Word of God.

Hebrews 11:3 NKJV “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

Jesus possesses an endless life. He is the beginning and the end.

Revelation 22:13 NKJV “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

Jesus is the Word of God and God’s Word will not pass away. Matthew 24:35 NKJV “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”

In John Chapter 3 Nicodemus comes to Jesus at night to talk to Him. Jesus tells him that he must be born again.

John 3:12-13 NKJV “If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.”

Understand the power of an endless life, the creative power of the Spirit of God. Look what Jesus tells Nicodemus in verse 13 “No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.”

Jesus tells Nicodemus that He has ascended to heaven and He came down from heaven and, get this: “the Son of Man who is in heaven.” I went up to heaven, I came down from heaven, and oh by the way, as we are talking, I am in heaven right now.

Jesus wanted all believers to have this ‘dunamis power’ of God. He told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem so they could receive this power just before He ascended into heaven after He walked on the earth for 40 days after His resurrection.

Acts 1:8-9 NKJV “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

The word power in verse 8 is again, ‘Dunamis power;’ the miracle working power of God. When a born again believer is filled with the Holy Spirit and speaks in other tongues they are filled with a greater measure of ‘dunamis power.’ This power is to be used as a witness for Jesus; for service to the Lord. The Holy Spirit on us for service.

9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

Remember, Jesus told Nicodemus that He has ascended to heaven and He came down from heaven and, get this: “the Son of Man who is in heaven.” I went up to heaven, I came down from heaven, and oh by the way, as we are talking, I am in heaven right now.

It is the same for us as born again believers. In the Spirit realm we are also seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:18-21 NKJV “the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”

Let’s examine verse 19 : “and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.”

The first word power: greatness of His power is the word dunamis we mentioned above.

The second word power: working of His mighty power: means strength, endowed physical power, power to prevail, power of health, power to gain strength.

The word mighty: force, strength might, manifested power and dominion; power that man cannot escape, the ruler, the one who holds every thing together. The Almighty!

Jesus, the Word of God, is the power of Almighty God. The power of dominion, the power that holds everything together. This is the Word of God in the flesh. This is the power that raised Christ from the dead (verse 20). The power of an endless life!

This power is above everything, including the devil and his bunch, and even death: “far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”

I have prayed for two people who were raised from the dead. David Hogan’s ministry in the mountains of Mexico has raised several hundred people from the dead.

God put this dunamis power in us. Ephesians 3:20 NKJV “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

This word power is again ‘dunamis’: miracle working power! God put His miracle working, resurrection, creative power in US! We have the power in us to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think. Believer, can you get a hold of this?

God gave us power over the devil and his bunch and He expects us to use it. Jesus died on the cross to give it to us. He gave us dominion on this earth.

Luke 10:19 NKJV “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

When we are born again we are given the power of an endless life in Christ Jesus. God’s ‘dunamis power’ resides in us!

Remember what Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:12-13? He told him that He ascended to heaven, came down from heaven and was in heaven all at the same time.

Royal Ones, it is the same for us as Sons/Daughters of God.

Ephesians 2:4-7 NKJV “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”

We are seated in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus while we are living on this earth! God has given us every spiritual blessing.

Ephesians 1:3-6 NKJV “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.”

This is why Jesus tells us to go and do exactly what He did while He was on this earth.

John 14:12-15 NKJV “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. 15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

Peter demonstrated a glimpse of this power when he walked on water. Later Peter would walk in the mighty power of God where even his shadow healed people. The other disciples walked in the power of God. Scripture tells us that every person who came to them for healing was healed! Peter learned an important lesson from Jesus when he walked on water.

Matthew 14:25-32 NKJV “Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

Peter walked on water, by faith, releasing the supernatural, miracle working power that was on the inside of him. When his eyes were on Jesus, the Word of God, Peter walked on water without effort. He put his faith in the Word that Jesus spoke: “come.” Peter walked on water by obeying the word ‘come’ by faith and by the power that resided in him.

Notice in this story Peter began to sink when he looked at the waves and the water, his circumstances and surroundings. He became afraid. The power of an endless life that dwells in us is to remove fear. Perfect love casts out all fear! If we understand that we have an endless life in Christ Jesus, then what in the world could the devil ever do to us? We do not have a Spirit of fear.

Jesus didn’t tell Peter to sink. Jesus told him to ‘come!’ Peter began to sink when his focus was on his circumstances/situation and not on Jesus, the Word of God: ‘come!’

We can all release the ‘dunamis power’ of God that dwells in us by faith and obedience to the Word of God. The word faith means to believe in, trust in and obey the Word of God.

We must understand that dunamis power, the power of an endless life resides in us. God’s miracle working power dwells in us! The Lord expects us to use this power by faith in the Word of God: believing in, trusting in and obeying the Word of God. When we act on our faith it releases the power of God on the inside of us.

If you need to repent for any other reason, (uproot the seeds of sin that you have sown) DO IT! YOU must turn from your sin, disobedience to the Word of God, and turn back to God, and make the choice to obey His Word; then ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus! Forgive everyone who has ever harmed you; forgive yourself for the hurt that you have done to others and to the heart of God.
