God is with you, Amen.

You don’t have to fight those battles.

Don’t try to do it in your own strength.

Christ is our source of strength.

There is an infinite amount of strength available for those who are in Christ.

1. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

2. Psalm 28:7-8 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.

3. Psalm 68:35 You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!

Finding strength, faith, comfort, and hope

With total submission to the strength of God, we are able to endure and overcome any situation that might arise in our Christian life.

4. Philippians 4:13 I am able to do all things through the one who strengthens me.

5. 1 Corinthians 16:13  Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.

6. Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You have a defender.

Stand still and you will see the deliverance of The Lord.

It is because the blessing is stronger than the curse.

In Galatians 3:13-14 the apostle Paul explains that when Jesus died on the cross, He became a curse for us. Not only does this enable us to be redeemed from every curse, but it also means that “the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus.” Through our relationship with God in Christ Jesus, we are to walk in the blessing of God even as our father Abraham did.

How was Abraham blessed? The Bible summarizes it like this:

“Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.” Genesis 24:1

The Lord blessed Abraham in all things! And in Christ, we are to experience the same blessing of Abraham. As God’s people–and as His sons and daughters–we are to walk in God’s abundant blessings. This does not mean that we will not experience trials or suffering; but we should have a sense of God’s blessing and favor shining upon us throughout our lives.

Blessings are Greater than Curses

Light is always stronger than darkness. Perfect love casts out fear. The peace of God calms the storms around us. And the blessing of God is more powerful than any curse.

When an enemy king named Balak tried to have Israel cursed by the “prophet” Balaam, this was the response of God:

And God said to Balaam, ‘You shall not go with them; you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.’ ” Numbers 22:12

Even after Balaam eventually went with Balak, he was unable to put a curse on God’s people. Only blessing would flow out of his mouth, to the great frustration of Balak. God had already decided to bless His people Israel, and no curse would land on them. Only if they chose to walk in disobedience and turn from God and His ways would they fall into curses.

The same is true for us. As believers in Jesus, we are blessed simply because of our identification with Him. If there have been curses in our lives, we can identify and break free from them. But God does not just want to remove the curses, He wants to take us into the fullness of His blessings. God’s blessing is more powerful than any curse!

I pray that the power of God’s blessing will come upon you and overtake your life in a fresh way, Amen.

What does it look like to walk in the “blessing of Abraham”? Do you struggle to believe that God wants to bless you?

The people you’re up against, the circumstances, may seem bigger, more powerful, more influential. The cancer and addiction are intimidating. Stay in peace. What’s on/in/with you is greater than what’s trying to stop you.
