What is the God box?
A God Box is any physical box with notes on which you write your dreams, problems, desires, or hard-to-make decisions and thoughts. Basically, you are turning them over to God. Personally, I include the date and end all my requests with the statement, “Thy will be done!
I’ve had this tradition I started after my accident…
I can have over 4 small boxes in corners of my bedroom
I name them ‘God’s Box’
What are they?
They are small cartons where I drop prayer requests, letters to God etc
I put date and time of writing on it
He is a God that documents things
So, anytime I’m doing serious cleaning, I see them, open them, check the list, mark the ones that have been answered, write a ‘thank YOU’ note, write out the ones not yet done, and sometimes take out the sorted ones
..because they are dated, anytime I open them, I meditate
Something like, “you mean a year ago, 2 years ago, I was so worried about this? And now it is sorted?”
Moments like that puts my thanksgiving in proper perspective
It is easier to list what has not been done
It is easier to make requests
You must learn how to be thankful
You must be intentional about giving thanks to God and NAMING your blessings one by one.
To be specific about what we are grateful for takes being intentional.
My God’s boxes allow me to document some of the things I’m grateful for
I opened one today
Half sorted
I have faith that the remaining half is getting sorted
Again, I share what it implies: Each time a worry, fear or negative thought comes up, write it down on a piece of paper and put it in your box…and turn it over to God to figure out. Voila! That’s it. The act of owning your fear, writing it down and giving it over to a higher source can be incredibly cathartic.

Can you get a note and write out everyday 5 things God has done for you this year?
Yes
It is not easy.
That is why you will sit and meditate
Count your blessing
Name them
Document them
Come 31st, you’ll be able to give Him a worthy Thanksgiving
Another habit?
The Book of Memories
Where I write how God brought me out of challenges
That book serves as my diary
So that my children, their children and their children’s children will read them when I’m long gone
They will be able to personalise my walk with God, and place a demand on such deliverance when they face their own challenges
They will be able to say, “Thou O God of our mother, Gloria; same way you did this for her, do same for me..”
Just the same way the patriarchs, the matriarchs in The Word had their walks with God and Israel remembers.
I want that as well
