When we despise God’s command to be holy and flee from fornication and all uncleanness, we are grieving The Holy Spirit and insulting our God. He has called us to holiness, and we must walk in holiness if we are to please Him.
David once cried out, “cleanse me with hyssop and I will be clean. ” (Psalm 51:7) He was willing to undergo unpleasantness to “scrub” away his defilement if necessary. Let us also be willing to submit to unpleasant cleansing from sin, knowing the joy that comes with having a clean heart. Amen.
And we pray:
LORD Heavenly Father, cleanse me that I can stand before You sanctified, Amen. The process of renewing my mind, spirit and body may not be pleasant but I willingly lay my all before Your Essence, cleanse me LORD. Renew my Spirit in Jesus’ name, Amen.
