2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine, but they will gather to themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, having itching ears.
Itching ears! Indeed these days are upon us. Rejection of God’s truth is greater than it’s ever been.
itching ears is a term used to described the desires, wants and needs of people who want to hear what sounds and feels good to the flesh verses what God says in His Word that is beneficial to the saving of their souls.
This text is a warning from God through the Apostle Paul to all who confess to believe in Christ by faith.
In our world today many are walking away from sound truth that is found in the Word of God for a lie that tickles the ear because it feel goods and is what they want to hear.
If there ever was a time to stand on biblical truth, it is in these perilous time in which we now live for the days are evil, the evil spirit of satan is running rampant in the earth through the hearts and minds of those who have rejected God’s truth and the enemy is wrecking havoc as he enters through ALL open doors.
The good news today is the fact that God is not concerned about scratching our itch for the thing and pleasures of this world, but His goal is transformation of the mind through the washing of the Word of God with the end results of new creatures in Christ Jesus with renewed minds that are daily conforming to His likeness.
Romans 12:2 Don’t be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.
