Where are you from?

NOT geographically! But, truly ‘where‘ are you from? You can figure out my next question! Where are you going? Life’s biggest questions! Are you saving? I truly mean that! Not only in your bank account that is so temporal, it is scary!

But God is always aware of exactly where we are. The Bible says, “The Lord watches over all who love him” (Psalm 145:20). “The Lord will guide you always” (Isaiah 58:11).

The Book of Genesis tells the story of creation, of the sea, the sky, the birds and animals and, finally, Adam. Chapter 2, Verse 7 reads: The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. Eve was formed out of Adam’s rib.

Jesus warned us about this when He said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on Earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal …” (Matthew 6:19-20).

This leads us roundabout to our initial question! “Where are you from?” Amazingly, you were Known before you were born!

It is astonishing, we are ALL born with a plan! Right quick:

One such man was Hezekiah, king of Judah, who began to reign when he was 25 years old.”Hezekiah did that which was right in the sight of The Lord, according to the scriptures. Among his deeds, he tore down the places of idol worship and “trusted in the Lord God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.” (2 Kings 18:5.)

In about the 15th year of his reign, “Hezekiah [was] sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah . . . came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith The Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.” (2 Kings 20:1.) Mind you, a prophet – Isaiah, was sent to deliver The Word of God!!

When Hezekiah pleaded to God that his life would be prolonged, The Lord said, “I will heal thee: . . . And I will add unto thy days fifteen years. . . .” (2 Kings 20:5-6.)”

Then Isaiah said, “Prepare a poultice of figs.” They did so and applied it to the boil, and he recovered. Hezekiah had asked Isaiah, “What will be the sign that the LORD will heal me and that I will go up to the temple of the LORD on the third day from now?” Isaiah answered, “This is the LORD’s sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised: Shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or shall it go back ten steps?” “It is a simple matter for the shadow to go forward ten steps,” said Hezekiah. “Rather, have it go back ten steps.” Then the prophet Isaiah called upon the LORD, and The LORD made the shadow go back the ten steps it had gone down on the stairway of Ahaz. 2 kings 20:1-11

Thus The Lord granted Hezekiah’s request to extend his life. This, no doubt, was enjoyed by Hezekiah, for during these additional years he did many things.
