It’s easy to trust God when everything is going our way: doors are opening, our children are succeeding, our relationships are healthy. The question is: will you trust Him when doors close, when people walk away, when the dream doesn’t work out?
It’s not happenstance, not just a bad break. It’s a necessary ending. It’s God positioning you for the new things He’s about to do. God wouldn’t have closed the door unless He was going to open a better door. He wouldn’t have let someone walk away unless He was bringing somebody better.
Why is it important to give thanks in all situations?
Because God calls us to a life of continual thankfulness. It is God’s will that we give thanks. This is not to say we need to be always smiling. Sometimes things in life are bad and we should mourn or be upset, but it is in these moments that God asks us to thank Him anyway.
