I practice this often! Not every thought, comment, or opinion that gathers into my mind needs to be spoken through my mouth. I am very careful of the words I speak. Constantly communing with God about my thoughts and feelings; then filtering through the Bible if what I want to say either agrees or comes against the Word of God. I guard my mouth. Some things should only be prayed for silently in your heart between you and The Lord. Some things should only be spoken through the Spirit between you and God. Not everything spoken to you deserves a reply. Do not speak curses, rather speak life and blessings!
1 Corinthians 10:23
““I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.”
Matthew 12:36-37
“But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.””
Psalms 34:11-14
“Come, my children, and listen to me, and I will teach you to fear The Lord. Does anyone want to live a life that is long and prosperous? Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies! Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.”
