5 Symptoms of a Spiritual Heart Attack
- Loss of Spiritual Desire- Your love for The Lord is becoming distant. Spiritual desire is one’s who’s heart has a passion and on fire for The Lord. Remember what The Lord said is the first and greatest commandment.
📖Matthew 22:34-40
“But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”” - Physical and Mental Fatigue- You become emotionally and physically tired with all of life’s challenges. Your spirit man is weak and fatigued. We see this with Elijah in 1 Kings.
📖I Kings 19:3-4
“And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!”” - Lack of Finance- The bills are due every month, large appliances break down, car repairs arise, but worrying will not change the situation. Worrying will change you physically, mentally, and emotionally; so rather praise God and believe that He will make a way. Stand on His promises:
📖Philippians 4:19
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” - Feeling Overwhelmed and Hopeless- Many feel this in regard to their marriages, their places of employment, feeling hopeless for their children, the list can go on and on. But we must remember what the Word of God tells us:
📖Galatians 6:9
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” - Old Habits and Desires Come Back- The things that you had overcome have start to come back. For instance you begin cursing again, or watching porn, or drinking again. Maybe you find yourself yoking back up with certain people you separated from for your spiritual growth. You start to pull away from your relationship with God. The Bible tells us that sin is pleasurable for a season, but there are always consequences.
📖Hebrews 11:25 “choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;”
4 Ways to Combat the Enemy Against Them
- Remember Who You are in Christ- You are a child of God. You are a joint heir with Christ. The Lord created you to be a warrior, a conqueror, and an overcomer. Remember that God has always provided for you, and has never forsaken you.
📖Psalms 1:1-3
“Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.” - Do Not Forsake the Time and the Place of Prayer- Prayer-less people are powerless people. In order to build your prayer life you need to have designated places of prayer. It could be your closest, your lanai, your car, etc. You also have to set a time to pray. Don’t wait until the problems of life arise to pray. You need to have a time and a place that you meet with God, and God meets with you. You need discipline to pray, knowing that prayer is your life line to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. When you spend time with God in prayer, it changes your heart and your spirit.
📖Psalms 91:1
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” - Get Back Into God’s Word- When you spend time reading the Bible, reading God’s Word, He will give you the direction and guidance to make it through this life. The Word of God is a rock. The Word of God is a fortress. The Word of God is powerful. Jesus exemplifies this when He was fasting in the wilderness for 40 days, and the devil came to tempt Him. After each temptation the devil tried Him with, Jesus’ reply was: “It is written”, and would recite scripture. As you read The Bible, trust in God’s word to go before you to destroy the works of the enemy. When you stand on the word of God you are victorious.
📖Joshua 1:8
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
📖Romans 8:37-39
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- Do Not Forsake the Power of Partnership with Other Believers- As brothers and sisters in Christ, we need one another. We need people to agree with us in prayer. We need people who will speak the truth in love to us. Satan’s main attack is division and isolation, so be sure to receive counsel from unified Christians who receive their word, advice, and counsel from The Word of God. Do not follow your feelings, your emotions, but follow what The Word of God say.
📖Matthew 18:18-20
““Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.””
God moves and operates in unity. If you want God to move in your life, if you want your prayers to be answered, if you want revival, if you want a change in your family… Get your heart right with God and man.
Praying Blessings to You Amen
