Peninnah (Hebrew: פְּנִנָּה Pəninnā; sometimes transliterated Penina) was one of Elkanah‘s two wives, briefly mentioned in the first Book of Samuel (1 Samuel 1:2). Her name may derive from פְּנִינָּה (pəninā), meaning “pearl.”
