When we compare and think we have to be like someone else, we can feel shortchanged, like we’re at a disadvantage. “I’m not as talented as they are.” Here’s the key: God has given you what you need to fulfill your destiny. If you needed a different personality, He would have given you one. If you needed different gifts, different strengths, different looks, different parents, it would have happened. Quit comparing and run your race.
Live for something bigger than yourself. Greatness will come out when you help others, when you build their dreams, when you support advancing the Kingdom. This is how you’ll be blessed, this is how your greatness will come out, this is how you’ll discover your crown.
Yes, we all have negative things in our family line, but when you gave your life to Christ, you became a new creation. He put some new genes in you. There is strength in your genes; there’s freedom in your genes. There’s health, abundance, joy, victory in your genes. “Well, this is encouraging, but everyone in my family gets divorced. Everyone has addictions. Everyone struggles in their finances.” Here’s the catch. You’re not everyone; you’re the exception. You have more knowledge than they had. The favor of God on your life is stronger, the blessing greater, the anointing more powerful. They may have lived with it, but you were raised up to put an end to it. You’re the difference maker. You can break the negative cycle.
