At Limitless Church, it was shared how to anointing your homes.. here is your guide! 🫶🏼
Here are some prayers you can say when anointing your home:
Acknowledge God’s power
“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that the anointing and all power come from You”.
Ask for protection
“Please guard all who enter and leave. Let nothing enter this house that is not of you, in Jesus’ name”.
Dedicate your home
“Lord, this house is set apart for your glory. Your name will be honored here forever”.
Invite the Holy Spirit
“Come, Holy Spirit. Come and fill every part of this home with the fullness of the kingdom of God, with your love, your peace, and your rest”.
Ask for angels to guard
“Ask for angels to come and guard every window and every door as you anoint them”.
Pray for your family
“Pray that your family and guests will be made “joyful in your house of prayer”.
Bless your beds
“Bless the beds and bedrooms. Even as we dream, show us more of your great love for us”.
Ask to serve God
“Lord, show us how to use this home to serve you and those around us”.
You can also remove anything in your home that has evil roots, such as books, movies, or clothing with certain symbols. Then, you can walk through your home, anointing each doorpost, room, window, closet, and stairwell.
You can also anoint the four walls on the outside of your home, as well as the lowest floor and the highest ceiling.
Here is your guide to anoint and pray over your homes.
Any kind of oil can be used – canola, olive, sesame or other. You can also buy pre-packaged Biblical anointing oils at Christian stores. It becomes anointing oil when you pray over and consecrate it.
Why we need to anoint our homes with oil….
By anointing a house with oil a supernatural hedge of Godly protection is placed in and around the house. Anointing oil is used when blessing our homes.
Isaiah 10:27: “It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.” (NKJV)
The anointing oil is a symbol of the power of the Holy Spirit and faith in God’s ability to protect, cleanse and keep evil away. It will drive out unwelcome evil spirits.
By anointing a home with oil is also a way of consecrating the house to God.
“Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy. (Exodus 40:9 NIV)
Praying over the oil…
Before the oil can be used you must pray over it in order for it to become anointing oil. A simple prayer will do. Simply ask God to anoint the oil and cleanse it so that it may be used for the work of His glory.
1.)Anoint the front door and pray that all who enter your home will “go out in joy and be led forth in peace,” (Isaiah 55:12, NIV).
2.) Walk through the entryway and shared spaces. Lord, we set this house apart for your glory. May Your name be honored here forever. Watch over our home and protect it. Just like the words you said to Solomon: “…I have set this Temple apart to be holy—this place you have built where my name will be honored forever. I will always watch over it, for it is dear to my heart,” (1 Kings 9:3, GNT).
3.) Ask for angels to come and guard every window and every door as you anoint them. “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;” (Psalm 91:11, NIV).
4.) Invite the Lord into the conversations around your table and the living room. “May our conversations be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone,” (Colossians 4:6, NIV). May the words we speak in this place be life-giving and encouraging.
5.) Pray that your family and guests will be made “joyful in your house of prayer… My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations,” (Isaiah 56:7, NIV).
6.) Bless the beds and bedrooms. Even as we dream, show us more of your great love for us, “for He gives sleep to His beloved,” (Psalm 127:2, BSB).
7.) Lord, show us how to use this home to serve you and those around us. “As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD,” (Joshua 24:15, NIV).
Thankfully, anyone can do this. Just a person with some oil, a prayer, and some faith in a very able God.
