Have you ever taken time to truly see nature around you?

Quietness:

noun

Absence of noise or bustle; calm.

Not just going for a ‘walk’! The true splendor of such a blessing!!! First, consider there is a percentage of society that is not blessed to have the ability to walk! Wow! Where do I start? Infections, Injuries, such as fractures (broken bones), sprains, and tendinitis. Movement disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease….the list truly is endless!

According to data from the CDC and Pew Research Center, around 7% of Americans report having serious ambulatory difficulties, meaning they struggle with walking or climbing stairs, which translates to a significant portion of society experiencing limitations in walking ability.

Key points to consider:
– Age factor:
The highest percentage of people with walking difficulties are typically older adults, particularly those aged 75 and above.
– Severity of limitations:
This figure includes individuals with varying levels of walking difficulty, ranging from mild inconveniences to complete inability to walk without assistance.

I never thought/considered/dwelt on this before my accident!

Do you see why you are blessed? After my accident, physical therapy was key! Annoying? Yes! That was a decade + ago. My testimony has been shared! I should not be walking, yet my mother’s care had her drive me for physical therapy… When insurance lapsed… a foriegn musculoskeletal physician who attended church at the parish we attended took wilfully and blessedly so!

On my way limping to therapy one day, I truly reflected on me environs! Have you ever truly ‘listened’ to your environment? Try and hear 20 different sounds! Let me throw you out the challenge to truly for once listen to your environment!

Here are some sounds you can listen for in your environment:

  • Running water: The sound of water from a faucet, washing machine, or dishwasher

1 Chronicles 29:11 states, “Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the Heavens and in the Earth is Yours. Yours is the Kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as Head above all“.

The chapter of 1 Chronicles 29 describes how David and his princes contributed to the expenses of building the temple. The chapter also includes the joy and thankfulness of David and his people, as well as prayers for Solomon and sacrifices to the Lord.
