2 Corinthians 5:17
- “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
This verse means that a person who is in Christ is a new person, and their old ways have been replaced with new ones. The new creation is not an addition to the old person, but rather a completely new self.
What does the new creation include?
- A new soul
- New purposes, feelings, desires, and understandings
- A new love for family and friends
- A new compassion for enemies
- A new Love for all Mankind
- Philippians 3:13-14: “Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before”
- Isaiah 43:18-19: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past”
- Ephesians 4:31-32: “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice”
