What is your cross utilized for? Uses? blessings, humility, mercy…

For Christians, the cross is a central symbol representing Jesus’s sacrifice and the foundation of their faith, signifying God’s love, salvation, and the call to discipleship through self-denial and following Christ

Here’s a deeper look at the significance of the cross in a believer’s life:

1. Symbol of Jesus’s Sacrifice and Salvation:

  • The cross is a visual reminder of Jesus’s death on the cross, a pivotal event in Christian theology, where he took the punishment for humanity’s sins.
  • Christians believe that through his sacrifice, Jesus atoned for the sins of the world, offering forgiveness and the possibility of eternal life to those who believe.
  • The cross is a powerful symbol of God’s love and grace, demonstrating his willingness to pay the ultimate price for humanity’s redemption.

2. Foundation of Christian Faith:

  • The cross is the central message of the Christian faith, highlighting the importance of Jesus’s death and resurrection.
  • It serves as a reminder of the power of God’s grace and the transformative nature of following Christ.
  • The cross is a symbol of hope and victory over sin and death, offering believers a path to eternal life and a relationship with God.

3. Call to Discipleship and Self-Denial:

  • The phrase “take up your cross” in the Bible (Matthew 10:38, Luke 9:23) signifies the call to discipleship, meaning to follow Jesus even when it involves personal sacrifice and challenges.
  • It involves denying one’s own desires and ambitions in order to follow Christ’s teachings and live a life that pleases God.
  • This can mean facing persecution, rejection, or other hardships for one’s faith, but also finding joy and purpose in serving God and others.

4. Symbol of Triumph and Victory:

  • While the cross initially represents suffering and death, it also symbolizes victory over sin and death through Jesus’s resurrection.
  • Christians see the cross as a symbol of triumph, reminding them that God’s power is greater than any obstacle or challenge they may face.
  • The cross is a reminder of the hope of eternal life and the promise of a future filled with joy and peace in God’s presence.

THE GOSPEL TRUTH!

What do you see to the CROSS-BEARING LIFE of the believer? We may individually view it differently; but it simply implies self-denial not ‘challenges’.

In Luke 9:23, Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me,” meaning discipleship requires a daily commitment to self-denial and following Christ, even if it means facing hardship or persecution.

Here’s a more detailed explanation:

  • The Context: Jesus’s words in Luke 9:23 are a call to discipleship, emphasizing that following him requires a conscious and deliberate choice to prioritize God’s will over one’s own desires and comfort.
  • “Deny Himself”: This phrase refers to putting aside selfish desires, ambitions, and ways of thinking. It’s about living a life that is not centered on oneself, but rather on serving God and others.
  • “Take Up His Cross Daily”: The cross was a symbol of suffering and death in Jesus’s time, and taking up one’s cross means being willing to face hardship, persecution, and even death for the sake of Christ. It’s a daily commitment to endure whatever may come in the path of discipleship.
  • “Follow Me”: This signifies obedience and a willingness to follow Jesus’s example, even when it is difficult or unpopular. It’s about living a life that is pleasing to God and reflecting his character in all areas of life.
  • The Meaning: Jesus’s words are a challenge to his followers to be willing to give up everything to follow him, even their own lives. It’s a call to a life of radical discipleship, where one is willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of Christ.

We see one another carrying it truly; but people do secretly TWIST and MODIFY the TRUTH to ease their lives but also REDUCE their effectiveness as believers. How complete or modified is your CROSS now?

JESUS ordered CROSS-BEARING for He had been before, He knew that we can’t please God unless we forsake our PERSONAL INTERESTS and PLEASURES that oppose God’s will. It may be PAINFUL but possible by divine GRACE! Are you scared by the CROSS?

The truth? A MODIFIED or FAKE CROSS may survive the world’s systems but not the GULF of ETERNAL JUDGMENT; anyone with a different WEDDING GARMENT shall be thrown out of the FEAST… so, endure your CROSS with GRACE!

Peace and Love.🙏🔥
