What fears have you overcome and how?

Overcoming fear with Jesus involves trusting in his love, strength, and guidance, and relying on his promises and the power of prayer. It’s about acknowledging your fears, but refusing to let them control you. This can be achieved through faith, prayer, and a focus on God’s Word.

Here’s a more detailed look at how to overcome fear with Jesus:

1. Trust in God’s Love and Presence:

  • Remember God’s promises: Isaiah 41:10 assures you, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
  • Confess your fears: Psalm 27 is a prayer for those who are afraid, inviting you to bring your unique fears into God’s light.
  • Recognize God’s protection: Psalm 23 reminds you of God’s supernatural protection and that Jesus is your Good Shepherd, putting an end to fear.
  • Focus on Jesus’ Love: 1 John 4:18 states, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment.”

2. Prayer and Seeking Guidance:

  • Pray regularly: Philippians 4:6-8 instructs, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
  • Seek God’s wisdom: Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand your fears and listen for His voice and promptings.
  • Pray with faith: Psalm 34:4 promises, “I cried to him, and he answered me; he freed me from all my fears”.

3. Living in Faith and Courage:

  • Challenge your negative thoughts: Refuse to speak curses over your life or dwell on negative thoughts.
  • Encourage yourself: Be courageous and bold, remembering that the battle has already been won.
  • Live in faith, not fear: Choose faith over fear and live courageously, stepping out of your comfort zone.
  • Remember who you are in Christ: You are a child of God, loved and cared for, and have been given a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind.

How can We Go through Fear and come out?

During the past year, many have gone through severe financial stress. Families were separated. Many lost their loved ones. The waves of the pandemic kept coming in some countries. As we continue our life in an ever-changing world, we need an unchanging anchor that holds our life. Well, you can ask what can be that anchor that remains constant all through our life. It’s no one but our dear Lord, who created you and me. Jesus said, “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.” Jesus Christ is our anchor. You are not alone in the current situation. He will never let us down. Dark clouds can come over lives. The storm may surround us. But Jesus will hold our life-ship even though the waves rise over us.

Do Not Be Afraid – We Have an Anchor

My dear friend, does your life has an anchor? Do not wait till tomorrow to fix the anchor. Lift your eyes towards God and invite Jesus into your life. You might be aware of Jesus. You might have trusted Him in the past. But make Him the anchor of your life today. The God who created you knows how to take you through the storms. He will hold your hands and walk with you. Put your trust in him. God says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” This is a call from our Lord. He is asking us not to fear and not to be discouraged. He is willing to hold us with His powerful and mighty hands. What a powerful anchor we have in our life.

Let’s bow down and pray to Jesus. Please place your hand on your heart and pray the below prayer with your own words. Jesus is listening to you. He will answer your prayers.

Dear Jesus, you know my deepest fears. Help me to come out of it. I understand and know You are my life’s anchor. My situations around me will change. I can not put my trust in my status, education, wealth, or anything else. You are my unchanging God. Your Love for me never changes. Your life-saving power has not been reduced. Please hold my life. I surrender my life to You. Lead me. Hold me and protect me. Let me put all my trust in You. Forgive all my past mistakes. Wash me with Your precious blood. Remove all my fear. Fill my heart with Your Heavenly peace. I pray in Jesus’s Name, Amen.
