Realistically, of course, it would have to be an extinct avian type, since DNA does not preserve well enough under any circumstances that we know of for 66 million years. They’d probably handle our modern environment and food supplies the best, too. So I’m going with a Terror Bird or a Moa, I can’t decide which. Moa might be safer?
If, somehow, we ever found a way to recreate a non-avian dinosaur… oh that’s hard to choose. But being practical, I think I’d start small. Something small, fairly well-understood, but iconic.
That being said, it has to be either Velociraptor or Protoceratops, I think. Or one of the early little mini-Tyrannosaurs. Although Sinosauropteryx and Psittacosaurus are VERY tempting. Throw in a small ornithopod or one of the island dwarf sauropods, say Europasaurus, to round out my top picks (I’d dearly love to see a sauropod, you can say that dinosaurs are still alive in the form of birds, and that’s true, and birds are awesome, but there is no substitute for the majesty of a sauropod).
In theory, I’d love a Rex or Spinosaurus (how many questions could we answer with that last one, in particular) or a mega-sauropod, but those would be hard as hell to feed and contain.
Well, now that we have tackled a fairly ‘fairy’ tale, let us deal with actuality. The last time I searched the web for the oldest man/woman alive:
The oldest living person in the world is Ethel Caterham, who is 115 years old. She was born on August 21, 1909. She is currently living in Surrey, England. According to Gerontology Wiki. Money/possessions will not keep you young forever. Then, what next? After life?
According to the Bible, after death, a person’s spirit returns to God, and the body returns to the dust. The Bible describes a future resurrection where the righteous will be resurrected to eternal life, and the wicked will face judgment. Some passages suggest a temporary state for the soul after death, either in paradise or a place of torment, until the resurrection. Ultimately, the Bible emphasizes two eternal destinations: Heaven for those who believe in Jesus and the lake of fire for those who do not.
Here’s a more detailed breakdown:
- Death as Separation: The Bible often describes death as the separation of the spirit from the body.
- Temporary States: Some interpretations suggest a temporary state of either comfort or torment for the soul after death, awaiting the resurrection.
- Resurrection: The Bible emphasizes the resurrection of the body, where the soul is reunited with a transformed body.
- Judgment and Eternal Destiny: The Bible describes a final judgment where individuals will be judged based on their actions and faith in Jesus Christ.
- Two Destinations: Those who believe in Jesus will be resurrected to eternal life in Heaven, while those who reject Him will face eternal separation from God in the lake of fire.
- Heaven: The Bible describes Heaven as a place of eternal peace, joy, and perfect fellowship with God, free from sin, suffering, and death.
- Lake of Fire: The Bible describes the lake of fire as a place of eternal torment and separation from God for those who reject Him.
