As we are taught to live each day…

In the Bible, “good success” primarily means achieving God’s spiritual purposes for your life, which includes prosperity, fruitfulness, and a life characterized by the fruits of the Spirit, rather than solely material wealth. This kind of success is achieved by meditating on God’s Word, committing your plans to the Lord, walking uprightly, and trusting Him in all things.

Key Characteristics of Good Success

  • Spiritual Prosperity:The Bible emphasizes spiritual blessings over material possessions, though worldly blessings can also be part of God’s plan.
  • Alignment with God’s Word:Success comes from carefully following God’s commands and meditating on His Word to understand and act on it.
  • Living a Christ-Centered Life:Good success involves living a life characterized by humility, cherishing one’s soul, and demonstrating the fruits of the Spirit such as love, joy, and self-control.
  • Trust and Commitment:You must trust the Lord with your plans and commit your works to Him, knowing that He will establish them.

How to Achieve Good Success

  • Meditate on God’s Word:Read, memorize, and chew on God’s Word to gain understanding and apply it to your life.
  • Commit Your Work to the Lord:Present your plans to God and rely on His strength, as stated in Proverbs 16:3.
  • Focus on Spiritual Goals:Strive first for the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and other things will be added.
  • Persevere with Faith:Stay focused and give your full effort to the goals God has set for you.
  • Live Righteously:Walk uprightly, committing your activities to the Lord, so that He may give you grace and glory.

Verses to Remember

  • Joshua 1:8: “This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”.
  • Proverbs 16:3: “Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established”.
  • Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well”.

To “commit your day to the Lord” is a spiritual practice, rooted in biblical verses like Proverbs 16:3 and Psalm 37:5, that involves surrendering your plans, actions, and desires to God for guidance and direction. It means taking time each day to pray, seek God’s will through prayer and Scripture, and trust Him with the outcomes of your efforts, knowing that He works to establish your plans according to His purpose. This daily act of surrender helps foster peace, fulfillment, and a deeper relationship with God, allowing Him to lead and transform your life.

How to Commit Your Day to the Lord

  1. Start with Prayer:Begin your day with a prayer of dedication, asking God to take control of your plans, actions, and intentions.
  2. Seek His Will:Take time to read the Bible, listen to Godly counsel, and reflect on His teachings to understand His will for your life and the decisions you need to make.
  3. Trust in Him:Place your faith in God, believing that He will guide and direct your path, establishing your plans even if they unfold differently than you expected.
  4. Give Him Glory:Let your motives, actions, and desires be aimed at bringing honor and glory to God.
  5. Surrender Outcomes:Release your expectations for the results of your work, trusting that God will work all things out to His proper end.
  6. Make it a Daily Practice:View this as a consistent spiritual discipline, not just a one-time event, to build a stronger spiritual foundation.

Benefits of Committing Your Day to the Lord

  • Guidance and Direction: You receive divine guidance in your decisions and daily activities.
  • Peace and Fulfillment: It brings a sense of peace and helps you feel more fulfilled.
  • Spiritual Growth: It contributes to personal spiritual growth and a deeper connection with God.
  • Transformed Desires: God can change your heart, giving you new desires to please Him.

Ephesians 5:15-20
[15]Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,
[16]making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
[17]Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
[18]Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,
[19]speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,
[20]always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
