Leaders are schooled; by and with the Word of God…

Effective Christian leaders are developed through a deep and continual engagement with the Bible. Their leadership principles, character, and vision are not primarily shaped by secular models but by the teachings, examples, and wisdom found in Scripture.

This schooling process involves both being taught by God’s Word and using it to teach and guide others.

How the Word of God schools leaders

  • It transforms their character: The Bible is a tool for sanctification, shaping the leader’s internal life before influencing their external actions. This process develops Christ-like qualities such as humility, integrity, and compassion, which are essential for godly leadership.
  • It provides wisdom for decision-making: Leaders are taught to seek God’s wisdom by immersing themselves in Scripture and prayer, rather than relying solely on their own understanding. The Bible offers timeless principles for navigating challenges and making decisions.
  • It grounds their mission and purpose: Leaders schooled by the Word of God lead with a clear, Christ-honoring purpose. They are motivated by biblical truths like the Great Commission and have a compelling desire to introduce others to Christ, not by a love of power or personal ambition.
  • It equips them for service: Biblical leadership is centered on the concept of servanthood, as modeled by Jesus Christ. Reading and meditating on the Word reminds leaders that their role is not to “lord it over” others, but to serve them.
  • It offers models for imitation: Scripture provides numerous examples of leaders—both successful and flawed—for others to learn from. The author of Hebrews exhorts believers to “remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you,” and to “imitate their faith”.

The practical application of this principle

  • Daily discipline: Like the king described in Deuteronomy 17, leaders are to read and internalize God’s instructions daily to prevent pride and ensure they rule in the fear of God.
  • Communication of truth: Leaders must be committed to communicating God’s truth to those they lead, whether in a church or secular setting. Their wisdom and values should be consistent with the Bible, even if they don’t explicitly cite Scripture.
  • Modeling what is taught: The most powerful teaching often comes from a leader’s lived example. Leaders must do the Word of God in order to illuminate God’s heart for those they lead.
  • Developing other leaders: The process of being schooled by God’s Word should lead to the development of other leaders. An effective leader trains and equips others to carry on the work of Christ.

THE TRIPOD OF FAITH.

The Apostle Paul expresses deep spiritual pain and concern for the Galatians, likening his feelings to a woman in labor until Christ is fully formed in them. The verse highlights Paul’s intense desire for the Galatians to undergo a profound transformation, becoming more like Jesus and fully embracing the gospel.

Here’s a breakdown of the verse and its context:

  • “My little children”: Paul uses a term of endearment, showing his pastoral love for the believers in Galatia.
  • “I am again in labor”: He emphasizes that this is not a new feeling but a recurring pain, reflecting his deep spiritual anguish for their spiritual well-being.
  • “Until Christ is formed in you”: This is the core of Paul’s desire. It’s not just about belief, but about internalizing Christ’s character and transforming their lives to reflect His likeness.
  • Context: Paul wrote Galatians to correct the Galatians’ tendency to return to a legalistic understanding of faith rather than living by grace through the gospel. He was concerned they were not growing in spiritual maturity.

In essence, Galatians 4:19 is a powerful metaphor for the spiritual struggle and deep commitment involved in helping others grow in Christ. Paul’s pain signifies his investment of time and energy into their spiritual formation, working towards their complete transformation into the image of Christ.

The ultimate goal of God for humanity is to form Christ in mankind for that is the only way to restore His LIFE and PURPOSE and that later cost Jesus His priceless life. Some of the principles used to commission man are highlighted by this image. Can you relate with any of the SITUATIONS?

CHRIST’S NATURE or LIFE is neither FORMED on the STAGE nor on the ROSY BEDS but rather crafted in the SECRET PLACE through intense devotional TIMES alone with GOD. Evidently, our busy world doesn’t permits that unless we’re forced by SITUATIONS that are beyond our control… every GOD’S GENERALS like MOSES and in our contemporary world has their different STORIES about this. So, maximize your STORIES for God!

The truth? Life without Christ is shapeless; placing leadership above formation often ends up in mess… So, submit your AMBITIONS to God!

Submitting your ambitions to God involves acknowledging that human plans are subject to God’s superior wisdom and purpose, entrusting your desires to Him, and yielding your will to align with His divine plan rather than seeking personal glory. This spiritual discipline involves faith in God’s ultimate goodness, recognizing that His ways are better and lead to true fulfillment, and is expressed through prayer, diligently pursuing God’s will, and living a life of devotion.

Key Principles

  • Acknowledge Divine Sovereignty: Recognize that God has ultimate knowledge and control over all things, and His plans for your life are superior to your own.
  • Yield Your Will: Be willing to relinquish your personal desires and aspirations, surrendering them to God’s will and purpose for your life.
  • Trust God’s Wisdom: Believe that God knows what is truly best for you and will guide you toward the most beneficial path, even when it differs from your initial plans.
  • Seek God’s Purpose: Direct your ambition toward serving God and fulfilling His ultimate purpose, rather than seeking personal gain, power, or self-promotion.
  • Embrace Faith and Peace: Understand that this surrender requires faith, but it ultimately leads to peace, contentment, and assurance in His plan, even amidst struggles.

How to Submit Your Ambitions

  1. Pray for Guidance: Offer a prayer, asking God to align your heart, mind, and will with His plan.
  2. Commit Your Plans: Trust God with your work and plans, believing that He will establish what is aligned with His will.
  3. Live by Faith: Embrace a mindset of faith, not fear, and be ready and willing to go wherever God leads you, even if it deviates from your expectations.
  4. Seek Godliness with Contentment: Find joy and fulfillment in spiritual growth and a life devoted to God, rather than being driven by worldly ambitions or material success.
  5. Allow for His Modifications: Be open to God modifying or even tearing up your plans, trusting His eternal perspective and good purposes for your life and the lives of others.
