We NEED to daily be in thanksgiving!
The LORD put something in my heart… EVERYDAY is a day of thanksgiving to God!!! For so MANY reasons:
Particularly 1 Thessalonians 5:18, which states, “in everything give thanks.”
Other relevant verses include Philippians 4:6-7 and Colossians 3:15, which connect prayer with thanksgiving and encourage believers to let their requests be made known to God with thankfulness, leading to His peace. This principle suggests a lifestyle of gratitude for all circumstances, not just good times.
Daily thanksgiving is a practice rooted in faith and gratitude, which can be cultivated through consistent reflection, prayer, and acknowledging blessings, even in difficult times. It’s a continuous mindset, not just for special occasions, that can improve well-being and bring joy by shifting focus from complaints to appreciating what one has.
Ways to live in daily thanksgiving
- Practice daily reflection: Take a few moments each day to deliberately think about specific blessings in your life.
- Be mindful of small things: Even in hard times, find things to be thankful for, such as a new day, the strength to endure, or the breath in your lungs.
- Use prayer and scripture: Incorporate gratitude into your daily prayers. Reflect on Bible verses about thankfulness to anchor your heart and mind.
- Keep a gratitude journal: Writing down what you are grateful for can help you chronologically record God’s faithfulness and shift your mindset over time.
- Express gratitude to others: Thanking people in your life is another way to practice thankfulness and to share your appreciation.
- Shift your mindset: Intentionally choose thankfulness instead of complaining. Recognize that a grateful attitude can lead to greater happiness, humility, and peace.
- Trust God’s plan: Even when circumstances are difficult, trust that God is working for your good. Being thankful for His presence and sovereignty in all situations can lead to a greater sense of peace.
