When experiencing the presence of God, the most common words and sensations reported are peacelove, and awe. Others frequently include comfort, warmth, joy, and a sense of being grounded or safe. These feelings are often accompanied by deep inner silence or a profound sense of calm. 

Here are top words associated with the Presence of God: 

  • Peace (deep, internal calm)
  • Love (unconditional, overwhelming)
  • Awe (sense of wonder or reverence)
  • Comfort (security and warmth)
  • Shekhinah (the Hebrew term for God’s dwelling/indwelling presence)
  • Joy (inner excitement)
  • Holy (a sense of sacredness) 

These sensations are often described as a “manifest presence,” which can bring about emotions like tears, laughter, or a physical feeling of a breeze.
