When it is said that we, Christians, are temporary residents on this Earth, it is because we are waiting for a greater glory to come – the return of Jesus Christ. Because of the Heavenly assurance we have, we shouldn’t fear this day, we anticipate it with joy! We should rejoice because Christ is coming for all of us believers, ushering in the glory spoken of in the Epistles. On that day, we will be reunited with fellow believers who have passed on; and we will take on our immortal bodies, Hallelujah!!!
And we pray with expectation:
Dear God, I rejoice when I think of what is to come. I do not fear the return of Your Son, Jesus Christ, but I eagerly look forward to the day because I know of what a glorious time this will be. I pray that as I wait, may I remain patient and focused on doing the work You have commissioned me to do, Lord. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
