NB with joy! It has been said by The Creator of ALL things…

God is not only aware of what was taken or delayed—He promises to restore it! Time in His hands is never wasted, and nothing is beyond His ability to redeem.

What feels like loss will be met with renewal, and what was broken will be made whole again. Trust His timing, because His restoration will be complete and purposeful.

God says, “I will give you back the years you lost. Be patient and trust Me.” — Joel 2:25

Joel 2:25 is a promise of divine restoration, where God pledges to repay the years destroyed by locust swarms (representing devastation, loss, and judgment). It signifies that God can restore lost time, opportunities, and resources, turning past, wasted, or “locust years” into a period of abundance and, to, this is often interpreted as a restoration of spiritual, emotional, or physical wholeness.

  • Context: Following a devastating plague of locusts that destroyed Israel’s agriculture—interpreted as a judgment from God—the prophet Joel calls for repentance. Joel 2:25 is the turning point where God promises to reverse this destruction.
  • Key Phrase: “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…” (ESV).
  • Symbolism: The “locusts” (swarming, crawling, consuming, chewing) represent various forms of loss—financial, emotional, or spiritual.
  • Message: The verse offers hope that, despite mistakes or wasted time, God can bring restitution, making up for what was lost.

The promise in Joel 2:25 is often associated with a complete turnaround, where the devastation is replaced by blessing.
