Have ALL your steps ordered by the LORD, Amen.

David said in Psalm 37:23, 24, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Though he falls he will not be destroyed. For the Lord will be there to pick him up.” This is saying that even though God is directing our steps, there will be times that we fall, times that we make mistakes, we go the wrong way. But God doesn’t say, “That’s it, I’m done with you.” He’ll be right there to pick us up. He’ll help us get back on the right course.

Psalm 37:23, 24, speaks directly to believers; having your steps ordered by the Lord which means God actively directs, establishes, and takes delight in the path of a righteous person. While this implies divine guidance over life’s journey, it also promises that if a person falls, they will not be utterly destroyed, as God is present to pick them up and redirect them.

Key Aspects of Having Steps Ordered by the LORD:

  • Divine Direction: God is involved in the meticulous, daily arrangements of life, ensuring your path is secured even when it is difficult.
  • Purpose in Trials: Difficult situations are often allowed by God to serve a divine purpose—to grow, stretch, and guide you into His plan rather than just happening to you.
  • Security Amidst Falls: A “good” or righteous person may still stumble (fall/make mistakes), but they are not completely cast down because the Lord holds them by the hand.
  • Requirement of Faith: Allowing God to order your steps involves trusting Him with your whole heart and not relying solely on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

How to Walk in Ordered Steps:

  • Trust and Obey: Actively trust in God’s, not your own, understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
  • Follow His Word: Use the Word of God as a guide for your path.
  • Maintain Righteousness: Strive to live a righteous life, which attracts God’s direction.
  • Pray for Guidance: Explicitly ask God to order your steps in His Word (Psalm 119:133)

Turn your eyes away from things that do not add value to your life, and fix them on what truly matters—God’s truth, His purpose, and His promises. In a world full of distractions, it’s easy to lose focus and give attention to things that drain your spirit. But God calls you higher, to a life that is meaningful, intentional, and aligned with His Word. When you choose to shift your focus, you create space for His peace, wisdom, and direction to fill your heart. What you look at shapes what you become—so keep your eyes on Him.

God is ready to renew and preserve your life as you walk according to His Word. His promises are not empty—they bring life, strength, and transformation. Even if you feel tired or distracted, He can refocus your heart and restore your vision. Stay anchored in His truth, and you will find clarity in the midst of confusion and purpose in every step you take. Let His Word guide you daily—it will never lead you wrong.

“Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.” Psalm 119:37.

And we pray:

Heavenly Father, help me to turn away from distractions and focus on what truly matters. Guard my heart and mind from anything that pulls me away from You. Renew my strength and preserve my life according to Your Word. Lead me in Your truth and give me clarity in every decision I make. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

God bless you abundantly.
