Keep this in your heart in faith…YOUR Sunday is coming, Hallelujah!!!

Imagine what Mary must have went through on Saturday. She didn’t know Jesus was about to raised from the dead. All she knew was her baby boy was gone. I can’t imagine the grief. This was her virgin-birth miracle baby. She gave up everything for him. She was outcast by her village, being pregnant and unmarried. She had to flee to Egypt after giving birth in a stable because Herod was trying to kill her baby. We don’t see her once complaining, arguing or giving up.

She watches her son start his ministry, healing people, performing incredible miracles, healing lepers, giving blind people their sight back, raising the dead, only to have the “pastors” of the day say her son is filled with demons. Only to watch him be rejected by the very people he came to save. I don’t think any mother should ever have to watch an angry mob chanting that her son be crucified. Or being beat by a Roman guard until he is on the verge of dying. Or watching him be nailed to two pieces of wood, after she spent years watching him and Joseph nail wood together for people’s houses, laughing together and creating family memories. Her mama-bear heart must have raged inside of her, been broken inside her, but she never retaliated.

I can’t imagine being Mary on Saturday. Yet in spite of all the pain and confusion and maybe even questioning “Why God, why,” we never see her give up. What a remarkable woman. She may not have understood everything but she never cursed God. She never lost her faith. Saturday was probably the darkest day of her life but she stayed strong and kept her faith in God.

Then there’s Mary on Sunday. Her Son has come back to life. He literally defeated sin, death and hell forever and saved humanity. He goes from a misunderstood man hanging between two criminals to becoming the central figure of the human race. Her story of her incredible faith and courage as a young girl will literally be told to families and children every Christmas for millennia to come. Her Saturday may have been dark but her Sunday was coming.

Your Sunday is coming too if you will keep your eyes on God and refuse to quit. Saturday might be dark in your life as well but your Sunday is coming. Don’t give up. Don’t lose faith. Don’t throw in the towel when things don’t make sense or you can’t figure out what in the world God is doing in your life. Keep trusting God and always remember… Sunday is coming!
