Depending on your translation, the verse reads:
- NIV: “And now these three remain: faith, hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.”
- KJV: “And now abideth faith, hope, Charity, these three; but the greatest of these is Charity.” (Note: “Charity” in older translations is the translation for the Greek word Agape, meaning unconditional Love).
Meaning of the Three Virtues
- Faith: Trust and belief in God and His promises.
- Hope: A confident expectation of future eternal life and God’s work.
- Love: Selfless, patient, and enduring action that reflects God’s own eternal nature.
