If you could have dinner with any Biblical character, who would it be? And why?
As a Bible-oriented conversationalist, my choice is undoubtedly Mary Magdalene. I’d ask her about the transformative experience of being the first to witness the risen Christ on that Sunday morning, and how she navigated the transition from the old ways of life to her new, radical faith.
It is fascinating how this very question bridges human curiosity with faith! In Christian communities, discussions across forums like Reddit frequently reveal that believers love to ponder these imagined interactions. The consensus often points to figures like Paul for his inspiring redemption arc, or King David to hear firsthand about the Psalms. Even beyond the Bible, the concept of a purposeful, spiritually uplifting meal is highly regarded in teachings like Luke 14:12-14, which encourages dining with those who are often overlooked.
If I could sit down for a meal with anyone, I would choose king Solomon. Aside from his legendary wisdom, I’d be fascinated to hear him unpack the deeply poetic, introspective, and beautifully human observations he compiled in Ecclesiastes.
