To His glory

So if what I eat causes another believer to sin, I will never eat meat again as long as I live – for I don’t want to cause another believer to stumble.
–1 Corinthians 8:13
According to Leviticus, clean meat is defined as the meat of every animal that has the hoof cloven in two and chews the cud.  Examples of clean meat include the ox (cattle), buffalosheepgoatdeer, gazelle, antelope and mountain sheep, just to name a few.

According to the Acts of the Apostleschapter 10Saint Peter had a vision of a vessel (Greekσκεῦόςskeuos; “a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners”) full of animals being lowered from heaven (Acts 10:11). A voice from heaven told Peter to kill and eat, but since the vessel (or sheet, ὀθόνη, othonē) contained unclean animals, Peter declined. The command was repeated two more times, along with the voice saying, “What God hath made clean, that call not thou common” (verse 15) and then the vessel was taken back to heaven (verse 16).

At this point in the narrative, messengers sent from Cornelius the Centurion arrive and urge Peter to go with them. He does so, and mentions the vision as he speaks to Cornelius, saying “God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean” (Acts 10:28). Peter related the vision again in Acts 11:4-9.

Shall we judge?

There is The Way!

If our acts shall cause one to sin, be wary. I am led to think of vegans, if one is a Christian, respect their beliefs, better to go without than to go ‘with’ and cause one to sin.

Are we examples?

On forms where “Belief/Practice/Religion” is asked, what do we write or check? Agnostic, Christian, Muslim, Hindu…?

There are options, SO many! We live by example, show it! Jesus stepped way down and came not as Who He was, but to serve! Can we state the same?

Christian – Christ-like, we are set apart!

Chosen before time!Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In Love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will— to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He Loves. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in Heaven and on Earth under Christ.

Got plans?

Proverbs 16:9 (KJV)

Wow! Wow! I say… The Word IS ONE!

Wow! Wow I say! The Word IS ONE!
Amen!
Teaching went out with each ‘share’, we are blessed! Do you share?

Actions, words, beliefs, practices…
Let us get serious, no halfway ‘falooting’, you are what you are! Redeemed, saved, changed…Hold on! ‘Holy!”
Say what? Yup! It has been said, what has been said is! We have a choice! The morning star in all its beauty, stepped away from God’s Will. What is God’s Will for you?

“Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

“the Holy Bible”

The Merriam Webster definition is ‘closer’ to what it truly is.

1: set apart for the service of God or of a divine being : sacred
a holy temple
2: Being a deity

3—used in exclamations to indicate surprise or excitement

Let us ‘one up’ it from there:

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4-9 (NIV)

Yet You saved them for Your name’s sake,
Lord, You made Your mighty power known.
You rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up;
You led them through the depths as through a desert.
You saved them from the hand of the foe;
from the hand of the enemy You redeemed them.
The waters covered their adversaries;
not one of them survived.
I thank You Lord in my all, my adversaries will be quieted IJN,

You shall reign in my life, in my ways – testimonies to Your glory will be shared by my mouth,

Jesus, let us hide ourselves in Thee, cleansed by The water and blood that flowed from Your side, Amen

ALL that was supposed to happen occured! Glory, glory, glory… Lord to show You had passed on, a lance was used to pierce Your side, Amen
The Spear of Destiny (also known as the HolyLance) is a name given to the spear used by a Roman soldier to pierce the side of Jesusof Nazareth several hours into crucifixion.
Holy Lance, also called Spear of Destiny or Spear of Longinus, a relic discovered in June 1098 during the First Crusade by Christian Crusaders at Antioch. It was said to be the lance that pierced the side of Christ at the Crucifixion.
The Holy Lance, also known as the Holy Spear, the Spear of Destiny, or the Lance of Longinus (named after Saint Longinus), according to the Gospel of John, is the lance that pierced the side of Jesus as he hung on the cross.

Y’all, we could go on, there is mention of the Roman Centurion who weirded the spear being healed by the lance, this takes us further from this share. But feel free to look up discovery of the lance, pccurences post use of the lance etc and be blessed, Amen

And now, we can be blessed as we have been by this share from whence it all started!

To God be The Glory!

We may wonder how, what or when to pray.

We may wonder how, what or when to pray.
What is prayer? I am aware that we all have varying definitions. One major “No-No” is vain repitition!
We have discussed “faith”, knowing your prayers are answered! We have touched on just what needs to be done… So much springs forth:
Matthew 6:7: “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.” Now, vain repetition there cannot mean just repeating. It’s VAIN repeating. Vain repetition.
https://famguardian.org/subjects/spirituality/Articles/MysteryWriterQuestions/VainRep.htm

In all things give thanks!
1 Thessalonians 5:18 King James Version (KJV)
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

https://tifwe.org/eight-lessons-christians-learn-from-trials/

God provides a way out, always:
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to Mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13

So for a few minutes, think with me as we look into God’s Word. (Read verses 2-4) The Lord would first of all have us know that there is a path we take in times of trial/need! You either run away, or face it!
God Works Through Trials – James 1:1-13
As I have reflected over the events of the past few days and months I was drawn to the first chapter of James. In the first 13 verses we are given some understanding of the purpose of trials that come our way. What are these if any!
• The good that has come from trials. We have got to sit down and contemplate this. Why did I go through that? Did deserve it? No one says that you asked for it, earned it, caused it. A lesson was taught! What to do or not do! To put it simply…

• The comfort we can have in trials.
So this passage speaks to us to help us in our time of trial when we need understanding and comfort. And yet in a real way I have also thought that the life of our friend and loved one actually was a living example of this passage:
• As individuals known to me demonstrated the reality of this portion of God’s Word.

I shall never be able to read these verses without thinking of examples shown by those in my life; ALL things work together for good in the lives of those who are called to God’s purpose, Amen
Roman’s 8:28

ALL things! Why this, why that… We have an answer, guidance! Simply pray and trust.
Enter your inner room/closet and seek His face! God is ALWAYS there! Even at our most difficult times! It is way easier to run in the opposite direction, than to hold on!

“If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” saysGod,
“I’ll get you out of any trouble.
I will give you the best of care
if you’ll only get to know and trust Me.
Call Me and I shall/will answer, and be at your side in bad times and good, Amen;
I will rescue you, and give you a cause to rejoice. My creation is awesomely Loved and cared for, you have learned to trust Me.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

The LORD will give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!”

In my life, all is for a reason!
https://www.google.com/amp/www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/bible-verses-about-purpose/%3famp

So for a few minutes, think with me as we look into God’s Word. (Read verses 2-4) The Lord would first of all have us know that there is purpose in trials.
1. When difficult times come into our lives and we find ourselves unable to comprehend/to understand; the enemy is quick to throw doubts/questions into our minds.
2. We find ourselves questioning God’s goodness/God’s wisdom in allowing these things to happen.
3. We may even be bitter and angry with God for allowing this to happen to us and wonder if He really understands. https://www.backtothebible.org/why-does-god-allow-suffering
4. But God’s Word confidently reminds us that God does understand.
We read/learn that this is a world of repetition, there is nothing that is that has never happened before! Ecclesiastes 1:9-1
Things do not just happen haphazardly to the Christian.
With no meaning/no purpose.

God made everything with a place and purpose; even the wicked are included – but for judgment.
God can’t stomach arrogance or pretense; believe me, he’ll put those upstarts in their place.
Guilt is banished through love and truth; Fear-of-God deflects evil.
When God approves of your life, even your enemies will end up shaking your hand.
Far better to be right and poor than to be wrong and rich.
We plan the way we want to live, but only God makes us able to live it. It Pays to Take Life Seriously!
A good leader motivates, doesn’t mislead, doesn’t exploit.
God cares about honesty in the workplace; your business is his business.
Good leaders abhor wrongdoing of all kinds; sound leadership has a moral foundation.
Good leaders cultivate honest speech; they love advisors who tell them the truth.
An intemperate leader wreaks havoc in lives; you’re smart to stay clear of someone like that.
Proverbs 16:4-14

Amazing how it is all addressed in The Word, no?

5. God is in control and as Paul reminds us no one or nothing can separate us from God’s Love. Rom. 8– even the most difficult of circumstances.
6. James reminds us that God wants us to trust Him in the trials of life.
For as we trust Him in the trials God can use the difficult trial to mold us:
To mature us. So that we will be more like Jesus Christ our Savior.
7. Isaiah the prophet said in trying to comprehend God’s ways: “For my thoughts are not Your thoughts. Neither are Your ways my ways, saith Jehovah. For as the Heavens are higher than the Earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
8. God would have us trust Him in the difficult trials:
For even though we cannot understand – He Loves us and He is in control.
He will use this trial to help us grow spiritually and to help us mature and become more like Jesus Christ.
9. Trust Him! Keep your eyes on Him! And God will use even this trial to His glory, Amen.
10. But James goes on to tell us that not only does God have purpose in trials–but also that God gives wisdom in trials.

And we pray:
Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against Thee, Thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Thy sight: that Thou mightest be justified when Thou speakest, and be clear when Thou judgest.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Behold, Thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part Thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which Thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide Thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from Thy presence; and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation; and uphold me with Thy free Spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors Thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto Thee.

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, Thou God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Thy righteousness.
O Lord, open Thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth Thy praise – in testimony will I share and live I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
For Thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: Thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of to You LORD are a broken spirit:
a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise.

Do good in Thy good pleasure unto Your people, Amen;
build Thou Thy walls around me, as The fence around Job, Amen.
Then shalt Thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness.
Psalm 51:2-19

Lord, we bring a sacrifice of praise unto The House of The LORD, Y’all Glory, glory, glory!!! We bring a SACRIFICE of PRAISE, unto The House of The LORD!!!

We offer a sacrifice of Thanks giving , we are able y’all to give unto The LORD what He deserves.

Back in the day it was ‘animals’ that made all the difference. We live in the day of Christ The Lord from Whom all blessings flow!

I can hardly sit still! I have received, it IS here! No thing – huMan, spirit, angel, being in existence or to come can EVER seperate me from The Love of God.

Glory, Glory, Glory- He knew and knows ALL things, He saw and knew Man would be tried. One quick second to backtrack in and on The Word…
“The serpent was the craftiest of all the creatures the Lord God had made. So the serpent came to the woman. “Really?” he asked. “None of the fruit in the garden? God says you mustn’t eat any of it?”
“Of course we may eat it,” the woman told him. “It’s only the fruit from the tree at the center of the garden that we are not to eat. God says we mustn’t eat it or even touch it, or we will die.”
“That’s a lie!” the serpent hissed. “You’ll not die! 5 God knows very well that the instant you eat it you will become like him, for your eyes will be opened—you will be able to distinguish good from evil!”
Genesis 3:1-4

We are ‘confused’ by this! So was I; of all the creatures God had made, the most wily was the serpent. Did it speak? I have wondered this many a time, but The Word says only “Man was created in His image.”
What are The Chacteristics of God?
God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in his being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.”
But The Heavenly attributes?
When you . . . see our Father in Heaven, you will see a ‘Being’ with Whom you have long been acquainted, and He will receive you into His arms, and you will be ready to fall into His embrace and kiss Him for ALL He has done, Amen.
You will be so glad and joyful. . . . When you are qualified and purified, . . . you can endure the glory of eternity.
Brigham Young

This says so much! ALL Three are ONE, Amen!

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attributes_of_God_in_Christianity

We have tried to define The attributes of God. God NEVER changes, He is Constant, Unchanging, Continually The Same!

God will hear and answer them– Even The One Who sits enthroned from of old– Selah With Whom there is no change, And who does not fear God.
Psalm 55:19

“But You are the same, And Your years will not come to an end.”
Psalm 102:27

“For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.”
Malachi 3:6

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8

“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from The Father of lights, with Whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.”
James 1:17

“And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a Kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him His Dominion is an everlasting Dominion Which will not pass away; And His Kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed.”
Daniel 7:14

“Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.”
John 6:27

After life here on Earth, time ceases to be! 1 ‘season’, a million years – no definition!

Two ‘Seasons’ – a billion years. There is NO ‘time’! We have discussed this so many times. Now a bit differently; in your ‘dreams’ there is morning, noon and night, people you know, places you know.
Granted!
I had a ‘dream’ after my accident. I did not see one person vaguely familiar- weird enough. The ‘light’ that surrounded me was so bright! Again “no sunglasses.” Enough so that I could see all. In this world there are ‘boundaries’ to space, time, habitation, what is! In my ‘dream’/experience – things at a distance were ‘far’ as in size wise, but not imperceptible.

To round this out, and reiterate fact that I have already stated, I thought I had a brief ‘dream’, minutes long – in “reality” it was ‘Months long!’ About two to be precise.

‘Time’ exists here on Earth. Once again, I reiterate; ‘time’ on Earth is different than ‘time’ on Jupiter or Mars or Neptune. IF we ever go to these places, we would still conduct our passage in Earth hours.
We have had astronauts in space, how do they keep ‘time
They remain synchronised to a Terran time zone. Obvious choices are either Houston time of GMT-5, or Moscow time of GMT+3. But this would result in an 8-hour time difference for one of the ground control stations. So a compromise was reached at GMT+/-0 (UK time)
The crew on board the station do experience multiple sunrises and sunsets every day, so I’d imagine you’d have to keep checking your watch to remind yourself what time it was.

When here on Earth there is a ‘difference’ in the genetically ‘consistent’ day/night ratio, just as in space in the preceding example, consistency is sought!
If you lived north of the Arctic Circle, you would have experienced 24 hours of darkness. It was the day Sun never rose. However, if you lived southof the Antarctic Circle, like many penguins, you would have experienced 24 hours of daylight. It was the day the Sun never set.
Norway, which is called the Land Of Midnight Sun… generally, the Scandinavian countries have the shortest daylight since they are located close to the North Pole. In Norway, the sun shines bright at 12:00 midnight… and that is why it is called the Land Of The Midnight Sun.

Again, we can dissect this further. But the point is made; for consistency we must align ourselves with a pattern. We are created just so.

https://www.desiringgod.org/articles/three-reasons-to-get-some-sleep

We MUST realize that there are jobs that are performed at all hours of the day! Nursing, Doctoring, Driving…Each profession has its adjustments.

Funny enough as an intern in Medical Residency, you were ‘on-call’ a certain number of days a week. If something ‘came in’, you were ‘up’ as required and still expected to be productive the day after! That is not so any more. This has changed! Night floats, Night Residents, Shift work are the run of the ‘mill’ now! A part of me wishes that these were my time. What a life! But, I know there are still endless responsibilities, so my heart goes out.
