Wise Men

Wise men?

Check this out:

“If a person turns to mediums and necromancers, whoring after them, I will set my face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.”

Leviticus 20:6

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

1 John 4:1-3

More notably:

Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.

Daniel 6:3

Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.

Proverbs 11:14

Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

Proverbs 19:20, 21

In God’s story, there have been councils of wise men, always ‘advising’ rulers, akin to a cabinet. Wisdom sparkles!

Solomon asked God for wisdom, PERIOD! And is blessed with so much more! He realizes that at such a ‘young age’ there was so much to be learned to rule a ‘nation’. Rulers round about, he asked for ONE thing and ONE THING alone!

James 1:5 tells us that if you ask for wisdom,God will give it generously without finding fault: “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” … Through wisdom you can get everything you want. It’s all contained in Proverbs 3:13-18.

This is found in God’s Story – (Book)! His Book of Knowledge! Amen

“Solomon son of David established himself firmly over his kingdom, for the Lord his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.

Then Solomon spoke to all Israel—to the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, to the judges and to all the leaders in Israel, the heads of families— and Solomon and the whole assembly went to the high place at Gibeon for God’s tent of meeting was there, which Moses the Lord’s servant had made in the wilderness. Now David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim to the place he had prepared for it, because he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem. But the bronze altar that Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur had made was in Gibeon in front of the tabernacle of the Lord; so Solomon and the assembly inquired of him there. Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the Lord in the tent of meeting and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.

That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”  Solomon answered God, “You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place. Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth.  Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.”

Then Solomon went to Jerusalem from the high place at Gibeon, from before the tent of meeting. And he reigned over Israel. Solomon accumulated chariots and horses; he had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand horses, which he kept in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem.  The king made silver and gold as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills. Solomon’s horses were imported from Egypt and from Kue —the royal merchants purchased them from Kue at the current price. They imported a chariot from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty.

They also exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and of the Arameans.”

2 Chronicles 1 New International Version (NIV)

He asked and was given! So many now seek ‘wealth’ and ‘abundance’. How many ‘years’ are you ‘present’ for? 100? Yes, there are rare individuals in our current day who are that old. But after, then what, where?

So many theories exist!

Most notably the three wise-men came to Bethlehem to worship the “King of the Jews.”

It is not a stretch of the imagination to know that after the passing of king (lower cap “k”) Herod an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream:

“After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.”

Matthew 2:19

Here we see the use of dreams to communicate in the spiritual realm!

Dreams, especially after praying, should not be discounted!  Up above we read that not every communication in the spiritual realm is of God.

Now I will list the eight (8) different ways that the Holy Spirit will lead us and communicate to us in this life. So you can have all of them right at the top of this section, I will go ahead and list all of them in a bolded, numbered format so you can have all of them at a quick glance:

• The Inner Witness – The Inner Knowing

• The Word of God

• Leadings

• Check in your Spirit

• Quickenings

• Visions

• Dreams

• Prophecies

We can glean still more from the story of the wise men seeking the newborn King.

“Where is the newborn King of the Jews? We saw His star as it rose, and we have come to worship Him.”

–Matthew 2:2

This holds so many lessons!  We did not call them “Wise men”! That was taught to every one of us. We have heard the story surrounding The birth of Jesus. Do we see how “stories” affect life? Amazing, no?

Based on this, why would they post King of the Jews? His charges? Coupled with input from the ruling counsel. More notably a statement that such is THE punishment for any making this claim. In His-story there has ONLY been One who has made this ‘claim.’ Definitely, none since!

Amazing to me that only through my interviewing for a position did I learn that Jesus was a refuge! Yes, He was!!!

We just mentioned it above! Jesus was taken to Egypt by Mary and Joseph to avoid being killed by Herod!  In the New Testament, the Massacre of the Innocents is the incident in the nativity narrative of the Gospel of Matthew in which Herod the Great, king of Judea, orders the execution of all male children two years old and under in the vicinity of Bethlehem.

There is much debate over this. But most notably, I raise that Jesus himself was a refugee! Amazing, no?  His-Story, the story of all mankind points to the fact that it all started in the Garden of Eden. Where is this?

The Turks say those four rivers are the headwaters of the Tigris, Pison, Gihon and Euphrates rivers in modern Turkey. Archaeologists once disagreed about the location of the Garden of Eden, some placing the location in Iraq (Southern Mesopotamia), while others claimed it was located closer to the Persian Gulf.

Again, much debate! Differences in language, appearance, physical characteristics…which can all be “explained” away. My small “indication” is the possibility of blood from individuals from different continents having the same blood type.

We read that blood transfusions is not something that should be undertaken without much consideration/thought. But it is done!

Humans are all one race, we are the human race. The differences are either negligible or so unique it’s not worth caring about. Every single human is a complete and wholly unique individual so don’t try to compare and contrast. You’re only getting into stereotype territory and there’s all kinds of people so it doesn’t even work. Generalities don’t work with humans.

There is so much to be said and it would be books or Gigabytes long! To say the least!

Remember an occurence in His-story?

We could go on and on. In the interest of time; search for yourselves.

Yes! The Tower of Babel! Earth was all one, being separate from the waters. We have discussed this in the past.  But even now there are subtle movements separating the continents.

Continental drift is the theory that the Earth’s  continents have moved over geologic time relative to each other, thus appearing to have “drifted” across the ocean bed. The speculation that continents might have ‘drifted’ was first put forward by Abraham Ortelius in 1596.

So much to discuss and debate on this topic but we will delve into a more comprehensive examination on this topic at a later date.
