To be “Led,” what does this mean?
Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. Psalm 143:10
For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:14
But if you are led by The Spirit, you are not under the Law. Matthew 4:1
The hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. Ezekiel 37:1
Then Jesus was led up by The Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Mark 1:12
The main evidence that a Christian is truly a child of God, is that they follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. We receive instructions from God, through the Holy Spirit. To turn down those instructions is to disobey God. Children are not to disobey their father. Obedience is part of an expression of our faith in God. We cannot just claim with our mouths that we are children of God. We have to live it in our lives to, as a result of the salvation we received.
And we pray:
Lord, my prayer is that I will take heed to the leading of The Holy Spirit, The Spirit of God, and not any other voice or influence. I choose to be led by You, O God, because You are my Father and I know that You always have my best interests in The Spirit, and thus I am lead, Amen. You know me better than I know myself. I trust Your guidance in my life completely. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
