Jesus warns His disciples in the passage against anxiety and even greed. He shames them with His questions. They are worrying about things they have no business worrying about. They worry about what they can get and don’t trust God to provide. Jesus explains to them that God provides for even the birds of the air and the flowers of the field. What makes them think that He won’t provide for them as well? This is just one of many times that Jesus questions the faith of His disciples.
And we pray:
Lord, help me to not fret about how my needs will be supplied. Let me trust You to take care of me. Let me not live my life in anxiety. Strengthen my faith in You. Thank You for making sure I’m taken care of. Amen.
