We may have missed this… “Satan hath permission to afflict Job.” Job was blessed, God placed a hedge around him and his household.
When I was young, my Dad had the gardener plant a hedge around our house; Hibiscus that became a separation of our house/property roundabout.
So, we read in the book of Job:
And on a day, the children of God came and stood before The Lord, and Satan came also among them, and stood before The Lord.
Then The Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? And Satan answered The Lord, and said, From compassing the Earth to and fro, and from walking in it.
And The Lord said unto Satan, “Hast thou not considered My servant Job, how none is like him in the Earth? an upright and just Man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? for yet he continueth in his uprightness, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.” (There is an ongoing battle for believers in Christ! For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12)
And Satan answered The Lord, and said, “Skin for skin, and all that ever a Man hath, will he give for his life.
But stretch now out Thine hand, and touch his bones and his flesh, to see if he will not blaspheme Thee to Thy face.”
Then The Lord said unto Satan, “Lo, he is in thine hand, but save his life.”
There is an ongoing battle in the spiritual – Stand firm: Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11
The Word is written for a reason, You! This is why we need to study it! Be soaked in The Word… Trials will come, and with The Word we overcome in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
And we pray:
Father LORD, El Shaddai, my Protector, my ALL, Amen. Your Essence is my beginning and my end, Hallelujah! Father, place Your Word in my heart that I live it, I pray in Jesus’ Name, Amen. Your will in and for my life come to be, Amen. I receive Your will in my life in Jesus’ Name, Amen. Father LORD wash me clean with The blood of Jesus, Amen.
