Luke 18:27

Luke 1:37
For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Genesis 18:14
Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Job 42:2
I know that Thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from Thee.

But Jesus said,
This phrase introduces the speaker, Jesus Christ, who is central to the New Testament narrative. His teachings often challenge human understanding and reveal divine truths. In the context of Luke 18, Jesus is responding to a question about salvation, emphasizing His authority and insight into spiritual matters.

“What is impossible with man
This part of the verse highlights human limitations. In the context of the rich young ruler’s question about inheriting eternal life, it underscores the inability of human effort or wealth to secure salvation. This reflects the broader biblical theme of human insufficiency, as seen in passages like Romans 3:23, which states that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

is possible with God.”
Here, the focus shifts to God’s omnipotence. This statement affirms that what humans cannot achieve through their own means, God can accomplish. It aligns with the biblical narrative of God’s power to do the miraculous, such as the parting of the Red Sea (Exodus 14) and the resurrection of Jesus (Matthew 28). This phrase also connects to the theme of faith, as seen in Hebrews 11:6, which emphasizes that faith in God’s power is essential for pleasing Him.

Teaching Points

Divine Possibility vs. Human Limitation
Recognize that human efforts have limits, but God’s power transcends those limits. Trust in God’s ability to accomplish what seems impossible.

Faith in God’s Power
Cultivate a faith that relies on God’s strength rather than personal ability. This faith is essential for overcoming life’s challenges and fulfilling God’s purposes.

Surrender and Obedience
Like the rich young ruler, we are called to surrender our attachments and obey God’s call, trusting that He will provide and make a way.

Hope in Difficult Circumstances
In times of trial, remember that God specializes in turning impossible situations into testimonies of His glory and power.

Prayer and Dependence
Develop a prayer life that reflects dependence on God, asking Him to do what we cannot do on our own.

There are moments in life when we face situations that seem insurmountable—whether it’s a health report, a financial crisis, a broken relationship, or a dream that feels too distant to reach. In these times, our natural tendency is to worry or feel defeated. But the Word of God reminds us that nothing is impossible for Him.

God’s power is not limited by human restrictions. He isn’t bound by the facts, timelines, or limitations that we face. What you think is a setback may actually be a setup for God’s greater purpose in your life. Think of Moses parting the Red Sea, Sarah giving birth in old age, David defeating Goliath—every one of these stories looked impossible from a human perspective. But with God, victory was certain.

You may be in a waiting season, but don’t confuse delay with denial. Keep praying, keep hoping, and keep trusting. God sees the full picture, and He is always working things out for your good. Your situation isn’t too far gone, and you are not forgotten.

Today, lift your eyes above the challenge and focus on God’s power and promises. Let faith rise in your heart. He can open doors, bring healing, provide resources, restore what was lost, and do what no one else can do. Stay encouraged—your miracle is on the way.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You that nothing is too hard for You. I bring every impossible situation in my life to Your feet and trust in Your timing and power. Strengthen my heart while I wait and help me to walk in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God bless you abundantly.
